Currently, I am serving as Assistant Professor of Biohemistry in Basic Medical Sciences (BMS), College of Medicine (COM), King Saud bin Abdul Aziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS), Jeddah overlooking the Accreditation process of the Medicine program. I have a teaching experience of almost 8 years and a research experience of almost ten years in the field of genetics and molecular biology. I have published almost 70 scientific papers in national and international journals of repute on wide variety of topics including Genetics, Molecular Biology, Oncology, Biochemistry and Colorectal, Breast, Prostate, Esophageal & Bladder Cancer. In many of them I am the first, or the corresponding author. Currently, the citation index (h) of my articles is 19 and i10 is 34. I am also the author of 07 books on biochemistry, biotechnology and molecular biology. I am also Associate editor of the Frontiers Oncology, Editorial Member of World J of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and a Reviewer of many Reputed Journals like PLOS Genetics, Tumor Biology, Frontiers Oncology, Gene, IJHG, IJMR etc. I also serve as Chairman of Quality Unit in BMS, COM, KSAU-HS, Jeddah. I have worked proactively in the Quality Unit and helped in establishing its structure and function to overlook into nine critical processes of the COM-J, KSAU-HS, like Academic Accreditation, Course Portfolios, KPIs, Strategic Plan, Surveys, AYSAR and ADAA. Teaching Philosophy: I am a strong believer of self-directed, student-centric teaching philosophy where an academician serves as pivotal role model for students, influencing not only the way of their learning but their character & attitude as well. I strive to be an effective teacher who recognizes and unravels the hidden talents of each & every student, which makes them self-directed & lifelong learners. Research Philosophy: To be a researcher is to be ready for lifelong learning. Since I completed my PhD, I have developed my philosophy of research with active participation in scientific conferences, by serving as the editor and reviewer of many reputed journals and via critical dialogues with my fellow researchers. I believe conducting scientific research is not only important in advancing the academic field but also imperative to support the practices of all the stakeholders in any academic institution. As an effective researcher, I always try to work in collaborative projects between various interdisciplinary departments.
