Dr. Elshaarawy is Clinical Lecturer and Consultant of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at National Liver Institute, Menoufia University, Egypt and Royal Liverpool University Hospital in the UK. He is also Honorary Clinical Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the school of Medicine, Liverpool University and visiting Assistant Professor at Salem Medical Center and Center of Alcohol Research, University of Heidelberg, Germany. Dr.Elshaarawy has been selected as the Coordinator of the Young Endoscopists Working Group in the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE). He is the Chair of the Young GI section in the Egyptian Association for Research and Training in Hepatogastroenterology (EARTH) and the Young Representative of the Society at the United European Gastroenterology (UEG). He has published more than 30 international papers and reviewed more than 60 papers. He has collaborated recently with Nature Springer in 10 Book Chapters on Liver Elastography with high caliber clinical scientists. Dr.Elshaarawy has attained several post graduate degrees as PhD in Internal Medicine and MD as well as MSc in Hepatology and Gastroenterology. He is the chief editor of Translational Medicine section and associate editor of Molecular Medicine in "Maqal Elmy" project. He has been Honorary Visiting Academic in Many international Centers as Liver Pool University and School of Medicine in Zagreb. Dr.Elshaarawy has been invited as a guest speaker in many international events as International Liver Congress (ILC by EASL), the Annual Liver Meeting (by AASLD) and the annual meetings of the European and International Societies of Biomedical Research on Alcoholism (ESBRA and ISBRA).
