Dr. Federico Ravaioli is a medical doctor, PhD in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and a clinical researcher in liver disease, human ultrasound and nutrition at the University of Bologna, Italy. Moreover, he is a Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology, Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, working at the Clinical Nutrition, Metabolism and Chronic Intestinal Insufficiency Unit - Sant'Orsola-Malpighi University Hospital (IT), University of Bologna, Visiting Research Associate at the Institute of Cellular Medicine, Newcastle University (UK). He is also a member of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) and the Italian Association for the Study of the Liver (AISF). His research deals primarily on managing of advanced chronic liver disease, the complications of portal hypertension and hepatocellular carcinoma, nutrition in hepatology (especially on NAFLD/NASH and gastroenterology (mainly celiac disease), and the application of ultrasound techniques and new elastography on the spectrum of chronic liver diseases. He also serves as a reviewer in many peer-reviewed journals in hepatology, gastroenterology and nutrition and as associate editor of Artificial Intelligence in Gastroenterology.
