Dr. Alessandro Vanoli, MD, PhD is an expert in the field of Neuroendocrine and Gastrointestinal Pathology, an Academic Researcher at University of Pavia (Italy) and a staff pathologist at IRCCS San Matteo Hospital Foundation, Pavia. He is also experienced in mucosal immunology. He is practically skilled in immunohistochemistry and molecular biology applied to disease diagnosis. Dr. Vanoli received his PhD degree in Experimental and Translational Medicine, University of Insubria, Varese, Italy in 2018, with a thesis entitled: “Clinico-pathologic, histophenotypic, molecular and prognostic characterization of small bowel carcinomas associated with celiac disease or Crohn’s disease”. In the last 10 years his scientific activity has been focused on achieving the following research objectives: i) to clarify the histopathologic correlates of gut inflammation; ii) to identify prognostic markers in neuroendocrine tumors and gastrointestinal carcinomas. Dr. Vanoli is a Member of the Italian Society of Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology (SIAPEC) and of Italian Group of Gastrointestinal Pathologists (GIPAD); he is also a Member of United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP).
