Professor Alexandru Corlăteanu is a distinguished medical academic and researcher specializing in respiratory medicine. He serves as the head of the Discipline of Pulmonology and Allergology within the Department of Internal Medicine at the Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) in Chișinău, Moldova. Dr. Corlăteanu earned his Doctor Habilitat in Medical Sciences in 2019, defending a thesis titled “Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in a Multidimensional Approach,” which underscores his expertise in COPD research . He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles and several book chapters, contributing significantly to the field of respiratory medicine. Beyond academia, he holds prominent roles in international health organizations. He is the National Leader for Moldova in the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) and a member of the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) Assembly for Moldova. Additionally, he has served as the National Delegate of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) for Moldova and also developed first junior organization of European Respiratory Society.
