Dr. Riyaz Ahmad Rather graduated from Bangalore University, India, and completed a Doctorate in Medical Biotechnology from VELS University, Chennai, India. He finished his post-doctorate at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India, from the Department of Experimental Medicine and Biotechnology. Currently, he is working as an Associate Professor of Biotechnology at Wachemo University, Hossana, Ethiopia. His research interests are non-invasive prenatal screening and feto-maternal health. Dr. Riyaz is in the early stages of his research career and has published 30 articles to date. He has edited three books and is currently the acting academic editor of PLOS ONE. He has been a member of the European Atherosclerosis Society since 2015 and has spoken at their conferences on various occasions. Additionally, he is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Multidisciplinary Research. He is continuously involved with various publishers as a reviewer and has authored several editorials Dr. Riyaz is currently engaged in research on non-invasive prenatal screening. He focuses on the study of cell-free fetal nucleic acids and their application in non-invasive prenatal screening tests. Dr Riyaz heads various committees including the Research Ethics Committee and Laboratory Development Committee. Dr. Riyaz enjoys writing and cooking as his hobbies.
