Professor Dimitri Kordzaia is an expert of liver and bile duct morphology and surgery. His both – PhD and DSc theses were dedicated to the problem of biliary obstruction in clinic as well as in experimental studies. He worked as senior surgeon at the Institute of Surgery (Tbilisi, Georgia). He is a member of International Collage of Surgeons and European Society of Surgery (in 1998-2001 he was the National Delegate of the Society). Currently, he leads the department of experimental modeling at the Institute of Morphology. He is an author of several methods in corrosion casting of the tubular structures. From 2007 till present Prof. Kordzaia is a chair of the department of Clinical Anatomy and Operative Surgery at Tbilisi State University, (TSU). He is a director of the PhD Programs “Clinical and translational medicine” and “Translational Bio-medicine (Direction – “Hepatology”)”of TSU. In 2017 Prof. Kordzaia was elected as a Dean of Faculty of Medicine, TSU.
