Yanfang Jiang, MD, PhD, Chief Physician and Doctoral Supervisor, serves as the Director of the Gene Diagnosis Center at the First Hospital of Jilin University. She is a distinguished scholar in the field of precision medicine, dedicated to integrating advanced genomic technologies into clinical diagnostics and improving patient outcomes through innovative and standardized molecular diagnostic solutions. Her academic influence is primarily reflected in her efforts to promote the standardization and scientific innovation of molecular diagnostic technologies. She has presided over multiple national-level research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and sub-projects of the National Key Research and Development Program. Her research has yielded systematic and groundbreaking achievements in areas such as the molecular mechanisms of genetic diseases, molecular subtyping and personalized therapy for tumors, and rapid diagnostics for infectious diseases. Under her leadership, a multidimensional technology matrix covering PCR, gene chips, first- and second-generation sequencing was established, achieving full CNAS accreditation for all platforms—a first for a public hospital in China. This provides a comprehensive solution for the industry, from technology implementation to quality supervision. As first author or corresponding author, Dr. Jiang has published over 200 papers in high-impact domestic and international academic journals. Her research findings have garnered widespread attention and citations from international peers, with a significant H-index on Google Scholar. She has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Second Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award and the First Prize of the Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. She currently holds leadership roles in several national academic organizations, including Standing Committee Member of the Medical Genetics Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and Standing Committee Member of the Cancer Etiology Professional Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association. As an active contributor to the academic community, she has reviewed over 100 manuscripts for journals such as Precision Clinical Medicine and Molecular Medicine Reports and has participated in the development of several expert consensus documents and academic reviews. Her long-term research focuses on three major directions: the molecular mechanisms of genetic diseases, molecular subtyping and personalized therapy for tumors, and rapid molecular diagnostics for infectious diseases, with the goal of translating genomic research findings into clinical applications. Dr. Jiang possesses exceptional research leadership skills, including the ability to build interdisciplinary research teams, manage large-scale research projects, guide the writing of high-quality papers, and identify and solve innovative scientific problems. Outside of her professional work, she remains dedicated to reading scientific literature and actively participating in academic exchanges, continuously broadening her professional perspectives and scholarly insights.
