Mingzhou Guo, MD, PhD, Professor, Department of Gastroenterology, Chinese PLA General Hospital, His research interest is mainly focused on the mechanism of cancer development and targeting therapy, especially in DNA methylation, long non-coding RNA, DNA damage repair, epigenetic based ‘synthetic lethality’ therapeutic strategy. He received his M.D. Degree from Henan Medical University in 1986, he received his Master Degree of Medical Science from Henan Medical University in 1992, he received his Ph.D. degree from Tongji Medical University in 1995. He received his postdoc training in Johns Hopkins Oncology Center from 1999 to 2007. July.1986-Sep.1989, he was a resident at the dept. of medicine, Second Hospital of Zhengzhou, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, P.R. China. July.1992-Aug.1995, he was assigned as an attending & lecturer in the department of Gastroenterology, Second Teaching Hospital, Henan Medical University. He was assigned as a faculty from 2007 to 2008 in Johns Hopkins Oncology Center. He has published over 200 peer review papers in many journals, including New English Journal of Medicine, Gut, Hepatology, Cancer Research, Clinical Cancer Research, Oncogene, Biomarker Research, International Journal of Cancer, Journal of Thoracic oncology, Clinical Epigenetics, Epigenetics and Epigenomics. He published 10 book chapters and authorized 7 patents, with H index 58 and citation 10,597 (Scopus). He is chair of clinical association, China national heathy association. He has reviewed over one thousand manuscripts. He is the editor-in-Chief of the journal of Chinese Gastroenterology & Hepatology, the associate editor of Cancer Science, Gastric cancer, Epigenetics, BMC pulmonary medicine, Frontiers in Oncology and other journals. His group modified the approaches for long noncoding RNA isolation and full-length sequences identification. His personal and professional goals are to discover early detection markers, deep understanding the mechanism of cancer initiation and progression, to develop new preventive and therapeutic strategies for cancer, especially “synthetic lethality”.
