My long-term research interest is renal physiology and cardiovascular disease. My current work focuses on cellular metabolism, and epigenomics in cardiovascular and renal diseases. I have a broad background in physiology, with specific training and expertise in the research on physiology, kidney disease and cardiovascular disease. I have the expertise, leadership, training, and motivation necessary to successfully carry out the proposed research project. In the recent years, my research includes the role of Renalase in hypertension, acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and cardiovascular disease, the lncRNAs in salt-sensitive hypertension, inflammatory mechanisms of renal disease and autoimmunological disease. I have published more than 60 papers, including more than 30 papers on which I was a corresponding author.
