Kamarul Imran Musa is an Associate Professor at the School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Malaysia. He has obtained medical degree (MD), post graduate degrees in Master of Community Medicine (Epidemiology and Statistics) and PhD (Epidemiology and Statistics) from Lancaster University, UK. He is a Fellow of the American College of Epidemiology (FACE) since 2017 and gazetted public health physician. In academia, he is the Head of the Department of Community Medicine and the coordinator for the Doctor of Public Health programme. His research interests include the modelling of diseases and their risk factors. He has led a few internation and national research grants for example the Newton-Ungku Omar Fund, a collaborrative grant between Malaysia and UK, the Fundamental Research Grant (FRGS) from the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia and the Research University (RU) grant. He has more than 130 articles indexed by SCOPUS with a total citation of 21955 and an h-index of 37 as of Oct 2021.
