Figure 1 Roles of miRNAs associated with cancer-associated fibroblasts in gastric cancer. Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) not only express miRNA-106b, 143 and 145 themselves, they also down-regulate the expression of miRNA-200b in gastric cancer cells. All of these miRNAs can induce gastric cancer (GC) invasion and metastasis through various cascades. (+): Promoting effects; (-): Inhibiting effects; (1) Enhancing the expression of α-SMA in both normal gastric fibroblasts and CAFs.
