Data are presented as median with range unless otherwise stated. The χ² test was used for between group comparison of comparison of proportion of qualified and non-qualified surgeons, splenectomy, conversion to open procedure, reoperation rate, and in-hospital mortality. The Mann–Whitney U test was applied for between-group comparison of total operative time, estimated blood loss, number of dissected lymph nodes, and hospital stay following surgery.
