In 2016, the World Journal of Diabetes (WJD) has published the 18th issue which containing 7 articles contributed by scientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Update on pre-diabetes: Focus on diagnostic criteria and cardiovascular risk”, a Review by Francesco Purrello, MD, et al from Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, University of Catania, Italy; (2) “Impact of diabetes mellitus on risk of cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality: Evidence on health outcomes and antidiabetic treatment in United States adults”, an Original Article by Longjian Liu, MD, PhD, MSc, FAHA, et al from Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health, United States, etc. We invite you to peruse all 7 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress/findings and provide insightful comments in diabetes that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
