In 2018, the World Journal of Gastroenterology (WJG) has published the 15th issue which containing 8 articles including 4 reviews, and 6 original articles contributed by scientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Multiomics biomarkers for the prediction of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease severity”, a minireviews by Silvia Sookoian, MD, PhD, Senior Scientist, from Clinical and Molecular Hepatology, University of Buenos Aires, Institute of Medical Research A Lanari, Buenos Aires, Argentina, National Scientific and Technical Research Council-University of Buenos Aires. Institute of Medical Research, Argentina; (2) “Evaluation of safety for hepatectomy in a novel mouse model with nonalcoholic-steatohepatitis”, a basic study by Nobuhiro Ohkohchi, MD, PhD, Professor, Surgeon, et al from Department of Gastrointestinal and Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, University of Tsukuba, Japan; and (3) “Analysis of aggressiveness factors in hepatocellular carcinoma patients undergoing transarterial chemoembolization”, a retrospective study by Oren Shibolet, MD, et al from Liver Unit, Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Tel-Aviv Medical Center, Israel, etc. We invite you to peruse all 10 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress/findings and provide insightful comments in gastroenterology and hepatology that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
