Abstract
This study addresses the critical challenge of lateral acoustic wave energy leakage in high-frequency film bulk acoustic resonators (FBARs) and elucidates the reflection mechanism of acoustic waves at acoustic reflection boundaries. Based on the theory of acoustic impedance mismatch, a novel Mo/SiC composite microstructure is designed to strategically establish multiple acoustic reflection boundaries along the lateral acoustic wave leakage paths. Finite element simulations reveal that SiC microstructures effectively suppress vibration amplitudes in non-resonant regions, thereby preventing acoustic wave leakage. By integrating Mo and SiC microstructures, the proposed composite structure significantly enhances the resonator's acoustic confinement and energy retention capabilities. A resonator incorporating this Mo/SiC composite microstructure is fabricated, achieving a series resonance frequency of 6.488 GHz and a remarkable quality factor (Q) of 310. This represents a substantial 51.2% improvement in Q compared to the basic FBAR, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed design in mitigating lateral acoustic wave leakage and enhancing resonator performance for high-frequency, low-loss applications. This work offers valuable insights into the design of next-generation RF resonators for advanced wireless communication systems.

Abstract
Active life monitoring via chemosensitive sensors could hold promise for enhancing athlete monitoring, training optimization, and performance in athletes. The present work investigates a resistive flex sensor (RFS) in the guise of a chemical sensor. Its carbon 'texture' has shown to be sensitive to CO2, O2, and RH changes; moreover, different bending conditions can modulate its sensitivity and selectivity for these gases and vapors. A three-step feasibility study is presented including: design and fabrication of the electronic read-out and control; calibration of the sensors to CO2, O2 and RH; and a morphological study of the material when interacting with the gas and vapor molecules. The 0.1 mm-1 curvature performs best among the tested configurations. It shows a linear response curve for each gas, the ranges of concentrations are adequate, and the sensitivity is good for all gases. The curvature can be modulated during data acquisition to tailor the sensitivity and selectivity for a specific gas. In particular, good results have been obtained with a curvature of 0.1 mm-1. For O2 in the range of 20-70%, the sensor has a sensitivity of 0.7 mV/%. For CO2 in the range of 4-80%, the sensitivity is 3.7 mV/%, and for RH the sensitivity is 33 mV/%. Additionally, a working principle, based on observation via scanning electron microscopy, has been proposed to explain the chemical sensing potential of this sensor. Bending seems to enlarge the cracks present in the RFS coverage; this change accounts for the altered selectivity depending on the sensor's curvature. Further studies are needed to confirm result's reliability and the correctness of the interpretation.

Abstract
Smart hospitals are poised to greatly enhance life quality by offering persistent health monitoring capabilities. Remote healthcare and surgery, which are highly dependent on low latency, have seen a transformative improvement with the advent of 5G technology. This has facilitated a new breed of healthcare services, including monitoring and remote surgical procedures. The enhanced features of 5G, such as Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) and Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC), have enabled the development of advanced healthcare systems. These systems reduce the need for direct patient contact in hospitals, which is especially pertinent as 5G becomes more widespread. This research presents novel hybrid detection algorithms, specifically QR decomposition with M-algorithm maximum likelihood-minimum mean square error (QRM-MLD-MMSE) and QRM-MLD-ZF (zero forcing), for use in Massive MIMO (M-MIMO) technology. These methods aim to decrease the latency in MIMO-based Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) waveforms while ensuring optimal bit error rate (BER) performance. We conducted simulations to evaluate parameters like BER and power spectral density (PSD) over Rician and Rayleigh channels using both the proposed hybrid and standard algorithms. The study concludes that our hybrid algorithms significantly enhance BER and PSD with lower complexity, marking a substantial improvement in 5G communication for smart healthcare applications.

Abstract
In the field of high-frequency communications devices, there is an urgent need to develop high-performance copper clad laminates (CCLs) with low dielectric loss (Df) plus good flame retardancy and thermal stability. The hydrocarbon resin styrene-butadiene block copolymer (PSB) was modified with the flame-retardant 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide/polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (DOPO-POSS) to meet the demands of high-frequency and high-speed applications. The resulting DOPO-POSS-modified PSB was used as the resin matrix along with other additives to fabricate PSB/DOPO-POSS laminates. At a high-frequency of 10 GHz, the laminates containing 20 wt.% of DOPO-POSS and with a thickness of 0.09 mm exhibited a Df of 0.00328, which is much lower compared with the commercial PSB/PX-200 composite (Df: 0.00498) and the PSB without flame retardancy (Df: 0.00453). Afterwards, glass fiber cloth (GF) was used as a reinforcing material to manufacture GF-PSB/DOPO-POSS composite laminates with a thickness of 0.25 mm. The flame retardancy of GF-PSB/DOPO-POSS composite laminate reached vertical burning (UL-94) V-1 grade, and GF-PSB/DOPO-POSS exhibited higher thermal and dynamic mechanical properties than GF-PSB/PX-200. The results of a limited oxygen index (LOI) and self-extinguishing time tests also demonstrated the superior flame-retardant performance of DOPO-POSS compared with PX-200. The investigation indicates that GF-PSB/DOPO-POSS composite laminates have significant potential for use in fabricating a printed circuit board (PCB) for high-frequency and high-speed applications.

Abstract
Routing and security are the two main prerequisites for ensuring the correct operation of wireless networks. The importance of these cases doubles in wide networks such as IoT. This paper presents an algorithm to improve Secure Routing in IoT called SRAIOT. This algorithm uses a hierarchical structure to determine the connections between network components and data transfer routing. In SRAIOT, the network structure is managed hierarchically and through SDN. For this purpose, the IoT network is first divided into a set of subnets using the SDN solution, communication control and authentication are managed using the controller nodes of each subnet. The communication between two objects (located in different subnets) will be possible if their identity is confirmed through the controller nodes related to them. On the other hand, in order to identify the sources of attacks and network security threats, the controller nodes in each subnet monitor the network traffic pattern using an ensemble learning model and identify possible attacks in their subnet. The performance of SRAIOT was tested in the simulation, and the results were compared with previous methods. The results of these tests show that SRAIOT improves network performance regarding routing and detecting attacks.

Abstract
Wireless sensors networks (WSNs) play an important role in life. With the development of 5G, its security issues have also raised concerns. Therefore, it is an important topic to study the offense and defense confrontation in WSNs. A complete information static game model is established to analyze the offense and defense confrontation problem of WSNs in 5G. An adaptive equilibrium optimizer algorithm (AEO) based on parameter adaptive strategy is proposed, which can jump out of the local optimal solution better. Experiments show that the optimization ability of AEO outperforms other algorithms on at least 80% of the 23 classical test functions of CEC. The convergence speed of AEO is better in the early stage of population iteration. The optimal offensive and defensive strategy under different offense and defense resources through simulation experiments is analyzed. The conclusion shows that when the offensive resources are large, the offender takes an indiscriminate attack. When the defense resources are small, the defender should defend the most important elements, and when the defense resources are large, the defender should allocate the same resources to defend each element to obtain the maximum benefit. This paper provides new solution ideas for the security problems under the offense and defense game in WSNs.

Abstract
Severe traumatic brain injury patients are in critical condition, and rapid rescue is very important for prognosis. Currently, the resuscitation process is complex and it is difficult to get to the operating room quickly to target treatment. We present a new strategy based on the Internet of Things system to integrate complex first aid procedures for efficient and comprehensive rescuing of patients with severe traumatic brain injury. This system includes three modules: human sign monitoring equipment, emergency transport equipment, and a network diagnosis and treatment progress control center. The system not only supports the streamlining of rescue procedures but also transmits the patient's status and optimal treatment strategies in real-time by using an advanced Internet of Things system. After deploying the system in a hospital, we conducted a validation study to evaluate its feasibility and superiority in clinical use. The preliminary results of the study show that this system can significantly shorten the treatment time, which may help the prognosis of severe traumatic brain injury patients.

Abstract
The rapid technological advancements in the current modern world bring the attention of researchers to fast and real-time healthcare and monitoring systems. Smart healthcare is one of the best choices for this purpose, in which different on-body and off-body sensors and devices monitor and share patient data with healthcare personnel and hospitals for quick and real-time decisions about patients' health. Cognitive radio (CR) can be very useful for effective and smart healthcare systems to send and receive patient's health data by exploiting the primary user's (PU) spectrum. In this paper, tree-based algorithms (TBAs) of machine learning (ML) are investigated to evaluate spectrum sensing in CR-based smart healthcare systems. The required data sets for TBAs are created based on the probability of detection (Pd) and probability of false alarm (Pf). These data sets are used to train and test the system by using fine tree, coarse tree, ensemble boosted tree, medium tree, ensemble bagged tree, ensemble RUSBoosted tree, and optimizable tree. Training and testing accuracies of all TBAs are calculated for both simulated and theoretical data sets. The comparison of training and testing accuracies of all classifiers is presented for the different numbers of received signal samples. Results depict that optimizable tree gives the best accuracy results to evaluate the spectrum sensing with minimum classification error (MCE).

Abstract
Health insurance has become a crucial component of people's lives as the occurrence of health problems rises. Unaffordable healthcare problems for individuals with little income might be a problem. In the case of a medical emergency, health insurance assists individuals in affording the costs of healthcare services and protects them financially against the possibility of debt. Security, privacy, and fraud risks may impact the numerous benefits of health insurance. In recent years, health insurance fraud has been a contentious topic due to the substantial losses it causes for individuals, commercial enterprises, and governments. Therefore, there is a need to develop mechanisms for identifying health insurance fraud incidents. Furthermore, a large quantity of highly sensitive electronic health insurance data are generated on a daily basis, which attracts fraudulent users. Motivated by these facts, we propose a smart healthcare insurance framework for fraud detection and prevention (SHINFDP) that leverages the capabilities of cutting-edge technologies including blockchain, 5G, cloud, and machine learning (ML) to enhance the health insurance process. The proposed framework is evaluated using mathematical modeling and an industrial focus group. In addition, a case study was demonstrated to illustrate the SHINFDP's applicability in enhancing the security and effectiveness of health insurance. The findings indicate that the SHINFDP aids in the detection of healthcare fraud at early stages. Furthermore, the results of the focus group show that SHINFDP is adaptable and simple to comprehend. The case study further strengthens the findings and also describes the implications of the proposed solution in a real setting.

Abstract
Research in stomatology (dental medicine) continues to expand globally and is oriented towards solving clinical issues, focusing on clarifying the clinical relevance and potential mechanisms of oral-systemic connections via clinical epidemiology, oral microecological characterization, and the establishment of animal models. Interdisciplinary integration of materials science and tissue engineering with stomatology is expected to lead to the creation of innovative materials and technologies to better resolve the most prevalent and challenging clinical issues such as peri-implantitis, soft and hard tissue defects, and dentin hypersensitivity. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), 5th generation mobile communication technology (5G), and big data applications, "intelligent stomatology" is emerging to build models for better clinical diagnosis and management, accelerate the reform of education, and support the growth and advancement of scientific research. Here, we summarized the current research status, and listed the future prospects and limitations of these three aspects, aiming to provide a basis for more accurate etiological exploration, novel treatment methods, and abundant big data analysis in stomatology to promote the translation of research achievements into practical applications for both clinicians and the public.

Abstract
A smart healthcare application can be judged as sustainable if it was already widely used before and will also be prevalent in the future. In contrast, if a smart healthcare application developed during the COVID-19 pandemic is not used after it, then it is not sustainable. Assessing the sustainability of smart healthcare applications is a critical task for their users and suppliers. However, it is also a challenging task due to the availability of data, users' subjective beliefs, and different perspectives. In response to this problem, this study proposes a multi-perspective fuzzy comprehensive evaluation approach to evaluate the sustainability of a smart healthcare application from qualitative, multi-criteria decision-making and time-series perspectives. The proposed methodology has been used to evaluate the sustainability of eight smart healthcare applications. The experimental results showed that the sustainability of a smart healthcare application evaluated from different perspectives may be different. Nevertheless, another technique can be used to confirm the evaluation result generated using one technique. In other words, these views compensate for each other.

Abstract
For many years, the importance of using telematic technologies in medicine has been growing, especially in the period of the coronavirus pandemic, when direct contact and supervision of medical personnel over the patient is difficult. The existing possibilities of modern information and communication technologies (ICTs) are not fully used. The aim of the study is to identify the telemedicine technologies that can be used in future implementation projects of the posthospital patient care process after total hip arthroplasty (THA). The literature search is reported according to PRISMA 2020. The search strategy included databases and gray literature. In total, 28 articles (EMBASE, PubMed, PEDro) and 24 records from gray literature (Google Search and Technology presentations) were included in the research. This multi-source study analyzes the possibilities of using different technologies useful in the patient care process. The conducted research resulted in defining visual and wearable types of telemedicine technologies for the original posthospital patient care process after THA. As the needs of stakeholders in the posthospital patient care process after THA differ, the awareness of appropriate technologies selection, information flow, and its management importance are prerequisites for effective posthospital patient care with the use of telemedicine technologies.

THE JOURNAL OF SUPERCOMPUTING 2022; 79:3643-3665. Abstract
This paper presents a prototype filter design using the orthant optimization technique to assist a filter bank multicarrier (FBMC) modulation scheme of a NextG smart e-healthcare network framework. Low latency and very high reliability are one of the main requirements of a real-time e-healthcare system. In recent times, FBMC modulation has gotten more attention due to its spectral efficiency. The characteristics of a filter bank are determined by t's, prototype filter. A prototype filter cannot be designed to achieve an arbitrary time localization (for low latency) and frequency localization (spectral efficiency), as time and frequency spreading are conflicting goals. Hence, an optimum design needed to be achieved. In this paper, a constraint for perfect or nearly perfect reconstruction is formulated for prototype filter design and an orthant-based enriched sparse ℓ1-optimization method is applied to achieve the optimum performance in terms of higher availability of subcarrier spacing for the given requirement of signal-to-interference ratio. Larger subcarrier spacing ensures lower latency and better performance in real-time applications. The proposed FBMC system, based on an optimum design of the prototype filter, also supports a higher data rate as compared to traditional FBMC and OFDM systems, which is another requirement of real-time communication. In this paper, the solution for the different technical issues of physical layer design is provided. The presented modulation scheme through the proposed prototype filter-based FBMC can suppress the side lobe energy of the constituted filters up to large extent without compromising the recovery of the signal at the receiver end. The proposed system provides very high spectral efficiency; it can sacrifice large guard band frequencies to increase the subcarrier spacing to provide low-latency communication to support the real-time e-healthcare network.

Abstract
This paper presents a new physiological signal acquisition multi-sensory platform for emotion detection: Multi-sensor Wearable Headband (MsWH). The system is capable of recording and analyzing five different physiological signals: skin temperature, blood oxygen saturation, heart rate (and its variation), movement/position of the user (more specifically of his/her head) and electrodermal activity/bioimpedance. The measurement system is complemented by a porthole camera positioned in such a way that the viewing area remains constant. Thus, the user's face will remain centered regardless of its position and movement, increasing the accuracy of facial expression recognition algorithms. This work specifies the technical characteristics of the developed device, paying special attention to both the hardware used (sensors, conditioning, microprocessors, connections) and the software, which is optimized for accurate and massive data acquisition. Although the information can be partially processed inside the device itself, the system is capable of sending information via Wi-Fi, with a very high data transfer rate, in case external processing is required. The most important features of the developed platform have been compared with those of a proven wearable device, namely the Empatica E4 wristband, in those measurements in which this is possible.

Abstract
This paper proposes a small antenna system (47 mm × 8 mm × 0.2 mm) to be used in a medical mask. The medical mask is composed of a frame and shield. The frame is made of polycarbonate (PC), and the shield is made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The author sets two groups of antennas on the upper side of the frame and sets two other groups of antennas on the sides facing away from the face of the shield. The substrates of the four antennas are all FR4 (εr = 4.4, tanδ = 0.02), so the first antenna type is a combination of PC and FR4, and the second antenna type is a combination of PET and FR4. The antenna system has three working frequency bands, in which the reflection coefficient is lower than −10 dB after actual measurement, and its working frequency bandwidth is 2.38–2.62 GHz, 3.38–3.74 GHz, and 5.14–8 GHz, respectively. It can be effectively used in 5G FR1 and Wi-Fi 7 frequency bands and can easily be combined with medical masks of different materials. This antenna system can use Wi-Fi 7 for wireless transmission indoors and use the 5G FR1 frequency band for wireless transmission outdoors, achieving seamless transmission capabilities.

The support vector machine (SVM) algorithm was selected as the core algorithm for the elderly physiological index disease risk assessment, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was adopted as the core method of the elderly disease risk quantitative assessment model to process the physiological indicators, and finally, a reasonable physiological index processing model and quantitative indicators of disease risk were obtained. The data on vascular disease were selected from the MIMIC database. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of the SVM algorithm and the Backpropagation Neural Network (BPNN) algorithm were compared and analysed. The final verification results showed that the fusion accuracy of the SVM processing MIMIC database and the University of California Irvine (UCI) dataset was 0.8327 and 0.8045, respectively, while the fusion accuracy of the BPNN algorithm in processing the same data was 0.7792 and 0.7288, respectively. It was obvious that the fusion accuracy of the SVM algorithm was higher than that of the BPNN algorithm, and the accuracy difference of the SVM algorithm was lower than that of the BPNN algorithm in different groups of data. In the verification of the elderly disease risk quantitative assessment model, the results were consistent with the selected data, which verified the effectiveness of the design model in this study. Therefore, it can be used as a quantitative assessment model of general elderly physiological indicators of disease risk and can be applied to the community medical communication management system. It proved that the model of medical communication and rehabilitation services for elderly patients in the community constructed in this study can definitely help the development of community service for the elderly.

Abstract
A compact, low profile, multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) diversity antenna with super-wideband (SWB) characteristics has been proposed. The proposed antenna comprises four symmetric monopole-radiating elements printed on low-cost FR4 substrate with the slotted ground plane. The single antenna of a monopole structure and a quad-port MIMO antenna, with the dimensions of 30 × 20 mm2 and 60 × 55 mm2, respectively, are ideal for IoT and high-speed data applications. The proposed MIMO antenna has a high diversity gain and low envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) within the frequency range. Simulated results demonstrate the performance of the MIMO-SWB antenna, which operates from 2.3 to 23 GHz, with a high isolation level over 20 dB in the achieved frequency band. Moreover, the proposed MIMO antenna has been investigated with mirror fashion and orthogonal structure. Both structures provide similar results except for mutual coupling performance. The orthogonal adjustment for high isolation achieves better results with the proposed model. Further, the prototype of the proposed antenna is fabricated and measured effectively. Simulated and measured results show good agreement for super-wideband applications.

Abstract
Background Digitalization affects almost every aspect of modern daily life, including a growing number of health care services along with telemedicine applications. Fifth-generation (5G) mobile communication technology has the potential to meet the requirements for this digitalized future with high bandwidths (10 GB/s), low latency (<1 ms), and high quality of service, enabling wireless real-time data transmission in telemedical emergency health care applications. Objective The aim of this study is the development and clinical evaluation of a 5G usability test framework enabling preclinical diagnostics with mobile ultrasound using 5G network technology. Methods A bidirectional audio-video data transmission between the ambulance car and hospital was established, combining both 5G-radio and -core network parts. Besides technical performance evaluations, a medical assessment of transferred ultrasound image quality and transmission latency was examined. Results Telemedical and clinical application properties of the ultrasound probe were rated 1 (very good) to 2 (good; on a 6 -point Likert scale rated by 20 survey participants). The 5G field test revealed an average end-to-end round trip latency of 10 milliseconds. The measured average throughput for the ultrasound image traffic was 4 Mbps and for the video stream 12 Mbps. Traffic saturation revealed a lower video quality and a slower video stream. Without core slicing, the throughput for the video application was reduced to 8 Mbps. The deployment of core network slicing facilitated quality and latency recovery. Conclusions Bidirectional data transmission between ambulance car and remote hospital site was successfully established through the 5G network, facilitating sending/receiving data and measurements from both applications (ultrasound unit and video streaming). Core slicing was implemented for a better user experience. Clinical evaluation of the telemedical transmission and applicability of the ultrasound probe was consistently positive.

Abstract
In recent years, smart health (s-Health) services have gained momentum worldwide. The s-Health services obtain personal information and aim to provide efficient health and medical services based on these data. In Japan, active efforts to implement these services have increased, but there is a lack of social acceptance. This study examined social acceptance concerning various factors such as trust in the city government, perceived benefits, perceived necessity, perceived risk, and concern about interventions for individuals. An online survey was conducted, and Japanese participants (N = 720) were presented with a vignette depicting a typical s-Health service overview. The results of structural equation modeling showed that trust was positively related to perceived benefit and necessity and negatively related to perceived risk and concern about interventions for individuals. Perceived benefit and trust were positively related to social acceptance, and perceived risk was negatively related to acceptance. The model obtained in this study can help implement s-Health services in public. Empirical studies that contribute to improving public health by investigating the social acceptance of s-Health services should be conducted in the future.

Abstract
The diabetic foot (DF) is one of the most feared conditions among chronic complications of diabetes, which affects a growing number of patients. Although exercise therapy (ET) has always been considered a pillar in the treatment of patients at risk of DF it is not usually used. Several causes can contribute to hindering both the organization of ET protocols for Diabetes Units and the participation in ET programs for patients at different levels of risk of foot ulceration. The risk of favoring the occurrence of ulcers and the absence of clear evidence on the role played by ET in the prevention of ulcers could be considered among the most important causes leading to the low application of ET. The increased availability of new technologies and in particular of systems and devices equipped with sensors can enable the remote monitoring and management of physical activity performed by patients. Consequently, they can become an opportunity for introducing the systematic use of ET for the treatment of patients at risk. Considering the complexity of the clinical conditions that patients at risk or with diabetic foot ulcer can show, the evaluation of how patients perform the ET proposed can consequently be very important. All this can contribute to improving the treatment of patients and avoiding possible adverse effects. The aim of this brief review was to describe that the use of new technologies and the assessment of the execution of the ET proposed allows an important step forward in the management of patients at risk.

Abstract
The objective of the paper is to evaluate the quality of systemic change management (CHM) and readiness for change in five Central European countries. The secondary goal is to identify trends and upcoming changes in the field of digital innovations in healthcare. The results show that all compared countries (regardless of their historical context) deal with similar CHM challenges with a rather similar degree of success. A questionnaire distributed to hospitals clearly showed that there is still considerable room for improvement in terms of the use of specific CHM tools. A review focused on digital innovations based on the PRISMA statement showed that there are five main directions, namely, data collection and integration, telemedicine, artificial intelligence, electronic medical records, and M-Health. In the hospital environment, there are considerable reservations in applying change management principles, as well as the absence of a systemic approach. The main factors that must be monitored for a successful and sustainable CHM include a clearly defined and widely communicated vision, early engagement of all stakeholders, precisely set rules, adaptation to the local context and culture, provision of a technical base, and a step-by-step implementation with strong feedback.

Abstract
Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G are enabling intelligent transportation systems (ITSs). ITSs promise to improve road safety in smart cities. Therefore, ITSs are gaining earnest devotion in the industry as well as in academics. Due to the rapid increase in population, vehicle numbers are increasing, resulting in a large number of road accidents. The majority of the time, casualties are not appropriately discovered and reported to hospitals and relatives. This lack of rapid care and first aid might result in life loss in a matter of minutes. To address all of these challenges, an intelligent system is necessary. Although several information communication technologies (ICT)-based solutions for accident detection and rescue operations have been proposed, these solutions are not compatible with all vehicles and are also costly. Therefore, we proposed a reporting and accident detection system (RAD) for a smart city that is compatible with any vehicle and less expensive. Our strategy aims to improve the transportation system at a low cost. In this context, we developed an android application that collects data related to sound, gravitational force, pressure, speed, and location of the accident from the smartphone. The value of speed helps to improve the accident detection accuracy. The collected information is further processed for accident identification. Additionally, a navigation system is designed to inform the relatives, police station, and the nearest hospital. The hospital dispatches UAV (i.e., drone with first aid box) and ambulance to the accident spot. The actual dataset from the Road Safety Open Repository is used for results generation through simulation. The proposed scheme shows promising results in terms of accuracy and response time as compared to existing techniques.

Abstract
The advances in the miniaturisation of electronic devices and the deployment of cheaper and faster data networks have propelled environments augmented with contextual and real-time information, such as smart homes and smart cities. These context-aware environments have opened the door to numerous opportunities for providing added-value, accurate and personalised services to citizens. In particular, smart healthcare, regarded as the natural evolution of electronic health and mobile health, contributes to enhance medical services and people's welfare, while shortening waiting times and decreasing healthcare expenditure. However, the large number, variety and complexity of devices and systems involved in smart health systems involve a number of challenging considerations to be considered, particularly from security and privacy perspectives. To this aim, this article provides a thorough technical review on the deployment of secure smart health services, ranging from the very collection of sensors data (either related to the medical conditions of individuals or to their immediate context), the transmission of these data through wireless communication networks, to the final storage and analysis of such information in the appropriate health information systems. As a result, we provide practitioners with a comprehensive overview of the existing vulnerabilities and solutions in the technical side of smart healthcare.

Abstract
The current pandemic situation due to COVID-19 is seriously affecting our daily work and life. To block the propagation of infectious diseases, an effective contact tracing mechanism needs to be implemented. Unfortunately, existing schemes have severe privacy issues that jeopardize the identity-privacy and location-privacy for both users and patients. Although some privacy-preserving systems have been proposed, there remain several issues caused by centralization. To mitigate this issues, we propose a Privacy-preserving contact Tracing scheme in 5G-integrated and Blockchain-based Medical applications, named PTBM. In PTBM, the 5G-integrated network is leveraged as the underlying infrastructure where everyone can perform location checking with his mobile phones or even wearable devices connected to 5G network to find whether they have been in possible contact with a diagnosed patient without violating their privacy. A trusted medical center can effectively trace the patients and their corresponding close contacts. Thorough security and performance analysis show that the proposed PTBM scheme achieves privacy protection, traceability, reliability, and authentication, with high computation & communication efficiency and low latency.

Abstract
With the ongoing efforts for widespread Internet of Things (IoT) adoption, one of the key factors hindering the wide acceptance of IoT is security. Securing IoT networks such as the electric power grid or water supply systems has emerged as a major national and global priority. To address the security issue of IoT, several studies are being carried out that involve the use of, but are not limited to, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and edge/fog computing. Authentication and authorization are crucial aspects of the CIA triad to protect the network from malicious parties. However, existing authorization and authentication schemes are not sufficient for handling security, due to the scale of the IoT networks and the resource-constrained nature of devices. In order to overcome challenges due to various constraints of IoT networks, there is a significant interest in using machine learning techniques to assist in the authentication and authorization process for IoT. In this paper, recent advances in authentication and authorization techniques for IoT networks are reviewed. Based on the review, we present a taxonomy of authentication and authorization schemes in IoT focusing on machine learning-based schemes. Using the presented taxonomy, a thorough analysis is provided of the authentication and authorization (AA) security threats and challenges for IoT. Furthermore, various criteria to achieve a high degree of AA resiliency in IoT implementations to enhance IoT security are evaluated. Lastly, a detailed discussion on open issues, challenges, and future research directions is presented for enabling secure communication among IoT nodes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Nowadays, smart healthcare minimizes medical facilities costs, ease staff burden, achieve unified control of materials and records, and enhance patients' medical experience. Smart healthcare treatments have critical barriers to improving patient outcomes, reducing the regulatory burden, and promoting the transition from volume to benefit. OBJECTIVE In this paper, the Internet of Things-assisted Intelligent Monitoring Model (IoT-IMM) has been proposed to improve patient health and maintain health records. METHOD The advanced IoT sensors can monitor patient health and insert into the patients' bodies. Information collected can be analyzed, aggregated, and mined to predict diseases at an early stage. For that, an enhanced deep learning network using Bayes theorem (EDLN-BT) benefits to obtain and verify various patient health data in a specific aspect, making it easy to supervise the patient's activities. RESULTS The IoT-IMM-based EDLN-BT results show the smart health care monitoring has undergone substantial growth, improving patient satisfaction for the quality of the healthcare services offered in hospitals and many other healthcare facilities. It helps predict health diseases with increased accuracy, prediction rate with minimal residual error delay, and energy consumption.

Abstract
The Internet of Things (IoT) is revolutionizing technology in a wide variety of areas, from smart healthcare to smart transportation. Due to the increasing trend in the number of IoT devices and their different levels of energy requirements, one of the significant concerns in IoT implementations is powering up the IoT devices with conventional limited lifetime batteries. One efficient solution to prolong the lifespan of these implementations is to integrate energy harvesting technologies into IoT systems. However, due to the characteristics of the energy harvesting technologies and the different energy requirements of the IoT systems, this integration is a challenging issue. Since Medium Access Control (MAC) layer operations are the most energy-consuming processes in wireless communications, they have undergone different modifications and enhancements in the literature to address this issue. Despite the essential role of the MAC layer to efficiently optimize the energy consumption in IoT systems, there is a gap in the literature to systematically understand the possible MAC layer improvements allowing energy harvesting integration. In this survey paper, we provide a unified framework for different wireless technologies to measure their energy consumption from a MAC operation-based perspective, returning the essential information to select the suitable energy harvesters for different communication technologies within IoT systems. Our analyses show that only 23% of the presented protocols in the literature fulfill Energy Neutral Operation (ENO) condition. Moreover, 48% of them are based on the hybrid approaches, which shows its capability to be adapted to energy harvesting. We expect this survey paper to lead researchers in academia and industry to understand the current state-of-the-art of energy harvesting MAC protocols for IoT and improve the early adoption of these protocols in IoT systems.

Abstract
Advances in communication technologies have made the interaction of small devices, such as smartphones, wearables, and sensors, scattered on the Internet, bringing a whole new set of complex applications with ever greater task processing needs. These Internet of things (IoT) devices run on batteries with strict energy restrictions. They tend to offload task processing to remote servers, usually to cloud computing (CC) in datacenters geographically located away from the IoT device. In such a context, this work proposes a dynamic cost model to minimize energy consumption and task processing time for IoT scenarios in mobile edge computing environments. Our approach allows for a detailed cost model, with an algorithm called TEMS that considers energy, time consumed during processing, the cost of data transmission, and energy in idle devices. The task scheduling chooses among cloud or mobile edge computing (MEC) server or local IoT devices to achieve better execution time with lower cost. The simulated environment evaluation saved up to 51.6% energy consumption and improved task completion time up to 86.6%.

Abstract
Diseases can affect organs such as the heart, lungs, brain, muscles, or vocal folds, which can then alter an individual's voice. Therefore, voice analysis using artificial intelligence opens new opportunities for healthcare. From using vocal biomarkers for diagnosis, risk prediction, and remote monitoring of various clinical outcomes and symptoms, we offer in this review an overview of the various applications of voice for health-related purposes. We discuss the potential of this rapidly evolving environment from a research, patient, and clinical perspective. We also discuss the key challenges to overcome in the near future for a substantial and efficient use of voice in healthcare.

Frontiers of Robotic Gastroscopy: A Comprehensive Review of Robotic Gastroscopes and Technologies. Cancers (Basel) 2020; 12:cancers12102775. [PMID: 32998213 PMCID: PMC7600666 DOI: 10.3390/cancers12102775] [Citation(s) in RCA: 25] [Impact Index Per Article: 5.0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Key Words] [Track Full Text] [Download PDF] [Figures] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 08/28/2020] [Revised: 09/22/2020] [Accepted: 09/25/2020] [Indexed: 02/06/2023] Open
Abstract
Simple Summary With the rapid advancements of medical technologies and patients’ higher expectations for precision diagnostic and surgical outcomes, gastroscopy has been increasingly adopted for the detection and treatment of pathologies in the upper digestive tract. Correspondingly, robotic gastroscopes with advanced functionalities, e.g., disposable, dextrous and not invasive solutions, have been developed in the last years. This article extensively reviews these novel devices and describes their functionalities and performance. In addition, the implementation of artificial intelligence technology into robotic gastroscopes, combined with remote telehealth endoscopy services, are discussed. The aim of this paper is to provide a clear and comprehensive view of contemporary robotic gastroscopes and ancillary technologies to support medical practitioners in their future clinical practice but also to inspire and drive new engineering developments. Abstract Upper gastrointestinal (UGI) tract pathology is common worldwide. With recent advancements in robotics, innovative diagnostic and treatment devices have been developed and several translational attempts made. This review paper aims to provide a highly pictorial critical review of robotic gastroscopes, so that clinicians and researchers can obtain a swift and comprehensive overview of key technologies and challenges. Therefore, the paper presents robotic gastroscopes, either commercial or at a progressed technology readiness level. Among them, we show tethered and wireless gastroscopes, as well as devices aimed for UGI surgery. The technological features of these instruments, as well as their clinical adoption and performance, are described and compared. Although the existing endoscopic devices have thus far provided substantial improvements in the effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment, there are certain aspects that represent unwavering predicaments of the current gastroenterology practice. A detailed list includes difficulties and risks, such as transmission of communicable diseases (e.g., COVID-19) due to the doctor–patient proximity, unchanged learning curves, variable detection rates, procedure-related adverse events, endoscopists’ and nurses’ burnouts, limited human and/or material resources, and patients’ preferences to choose non-invasive options that further interfere with the successful implementation and adoption of routine screening. The combination of robotics and artificial intelligence, as well as remote telehealth endoscopy services, are also discussed, as viable solutions to improve existing platforms for diagnosis and treatment are emerging.
