Very early	PS 0, Child-Pugh A, single HCC < 2 cm
Early	PS 0, Child-Pugh A-B, single HCC or 3 nodules < 3 cm
Intermediate	PS 0, Child-Pugh A-B, multinodular HCC
Advanced	PS 1-2, Child-Pugh A-B, portal neoplastic invasion, nodal metastases, distant metastases
End-stage	PS > 2, Child-Pugh C
