Figure 1 Cases of lymphocytic colitis showing respectively the damage of surface epithelium and increased mononuclear cells in lamina propria (H&E ×250) (A), few lymphocytes between crypt epithelial cells (H&E ×250) (B), intraepithelial lymphocytes (H&E ×250) (C), rod-shaped bacilli adherent to the surface epithelium (Giemsa stain ×400) (D), and bacilli within the lumen of transverse section of crypt (H&E ×400) (E).
