Abstract
Background This study seeks to identify research trends and hotspots concerning tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) for the treatment of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. Methods Publications on TKIs and EGFR-mutated NSCLC from 2006 to 2024 were analyzed using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and R-bibliometrix to visualize collaboration, keyword co-occurrences, and research trends. Results A total of 962 articles were analyzed, authored by 7,458 researchers from 5,401 institutions across 208 countries. Wu Yi-Long was identified as the most prolific author, contributing 30 publications. AstraZeneca emerged as the industrial leader with 103 articles, while the New England Journal of Medicine was recognized as the primary journal with the highest total link strength. Keyword co-occurrence analysis revealed significant research topics including "gefitinib", "chemotherapy", "open label", and "erlotinib." Moreover, keyword burst analysis indicated notable periods of increased research focus on topics such as "osimertinib" and "liquid biopsy", suggesting emerging trends and current hotspots in the treatment of EGFR-mutated NSCLC. Conclusion This analysis highlights research trends on TKIs for EGFR-mutated NSCLC, emphasizing the importance of targeted therapies like gefitinib and osimertinib for future research and clinical practice enhancement.

Abstract
Background and Objective While bibliometric studies of single journals have been conducted, bibliometric mapping has not yet been used to analyze the literature published by the Translational Lung Cancer Research (TLCR). This study aimed to comprehensively review all publications of TLCR from its inception to 2024 and provide a detailed overview of its main publication characteristics. Methods This study analyzed publications from TLCR spanning 2012 to 2024 using CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and the 'Bibliometrix' package in R. Descriptive bibliometric methods were employed to examine the trends and dynamics in TLCR literature, identifying leading authors, institutions, and countries in terms of publication output. Furthermore, bibliometric maps were generated to visualize key research topics and terms, highlighting their evolution over time. Key Content and Findings The analysis included 2,032 publications in TLCR from 2012 to 2023 and 121 publications in 2024. The study revealed a positive trend in literature production, although there has been a slight recent decline in the number of articles published in the TLCR. China emerged as the most productive country (n=587), with Shanghai Jiao Tong University being the most productive institution (n=127). Jianxing He from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University was identified as the most prolific author (n=75). The top ten most cited articles primarily address treatment strategies, recurrence, immune-related toxicities, global trends in mortality, and mechanisms of resistance, reflecting the broad scope and critical importance of ongoing research in lung cancer. Research published in TLCR predominantly targeted old adults with non-small cell lung cancer (n=879), with significant emphasis on overall survival (n=507), cancer staging (n=406), and cancer immunotherapy. Conclusions This study reviewed TLCR publications from 2012 to 2024, identifying key trends, top contributors, and research focuses. Future research directions in TLCR might focus on first-line treatment, ensartinib, and advanced data analysis methods such as the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) to revolutionize lung cancer research and practice. In conclusion, this study underscores TLCR's significant contributions to lung cancer research and provides valuable insights into its evolution and future directions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are capable of self-renewal and differentiation, and extensive studies have demonstrated their therapeutic potential in atherosclerosis (AS). AIM To conduct a bibliometric analysis of studies on the use of MSC therapy for AS over the past two decades, assess key trends and provide insights for future research directions. METHODS We systematically searched the Web of Science Core Collection database for articles published between 1999 and 2023, yielding a total of 556 articles. Visual representation and bibliometric analysis of information and trends were facilitated using CiteSpace, the R package 'bibliometrix' and VOSviewer. RESULTS The analyzed articles were predominantly from 52 countries/regions, with prominent contributions from China and the United States. A cohort of 3057 authors contributed to these publications, with the works of Libby P distinguished by their influence and citation count. Int J Mol Sci has emerged as the journal with the highest publication volume, prominently disseminating influential papers and identifying citation outbreaks. Furthermore, our analysis identified current research hotspots within the field, focusing on vascular progenitor cells, inflammatory mechanisms, and extracellular vesicles. Emerging research frontiers, such as extracellular vesicles and oxidative stress, have been highlighted as areas of burgeoning interest. Finally, we offer perspectives on the status of research and future directions of MSC therapy in AS. CONCLUSION This comprehensive analysis provides valuable insights for advancing scientific research on MSC therapy for AS. By elucidating pivotal trends and research directions, this study aimed to foster innovation and promote the progress of disciplines in this field, thereby contributing to advancing scientific knowledge and clinical practice.

Abstract
In recent years, the integration of immunotherapy in the treatment of lung cancer has marked a significant evolution in the field. This is evidenced by the surge in the volume of scientific publications, reflecting rapid advances over time. This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of lung cancer and immunotherapy research from January 2012 to December 2022, drawing on the Web of Science literature database and using the citexs data analysis platform to examine the shifts in topic hotspots over the decade. A total of 8,722 publications were retrieved, with annual publication numbers soaring from 79 in 2012 to 2,112 in 2021. The most prolific country in terms of publication volume was China (n = 3,363, 38.56%), with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center making the most significant institutional contribution (n = 156, 1.79%). Notably, the most productive authors in this domain were Benjamin Besse and Marina Chiara Garassino, who have collectively published 35 articles to date. Predominant research themes include PD1/PDL1, clinical trials, pembrolizumab, nivolumab, and immune checkpoint inhibitors. Moreover, this paper visualizes the analysis of journals, keywords, key genes and targets, and associated diseases, aiming to provide a systematic review and a forward-looking perspective on research in lung cancer and immunotherapy. By exploring current research dynamics and hotspots and identifying areas for improvement, this study seeks to provide valuable insights for future investigations in this burgeoning field.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Lung cancer ranks as one of the most rapidly growing malignancies. Which is characterized by its poor prognosis and a low survival rate due to late diagnosis and limited efficacy of conventional treatments. In recent years nanotechnology has emerged as a promising frontier in the management of lung cancer, presenting novel strategies to enhance drug administration, improve therapeutic efficiency, and mitigate side effects. This research comprehensively evaluates the current state and research trends concerning the application of nanomaterials in lung cancer through bibliometric analysis. MATERIALS AND METHODS We employed a systematic approach by retrieving studies from the Scopus database that focused on nanomaterials and lung cancer between 2003 and 2023. Subsequently, we carefully selected relevant articles based on predetermined inclusion criteria. The selected publications were then subjected to bibliometric and visual analysis using softwares such as VOSviewer and Biblioshiny. RESULTS A total of 3523 studies that meet inclusion criteria were selected for bibliometric analysis. We observed a progressive increase in the number of annual publications from 2003 to 2023, indicating the growing interest in this field. According to our analysis, China is the primary contributor to publication output among the countries. The "Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China" was the most influential institution. Among the authors, "Dr. Jack A. Roth" and "Dr. Huang Leaf" had the highest number of publications and cited publications, respectively. The "International Journal of Nanomedicine" was found to be the most prolific journal in this field. Additionally, "Biomaterials" emerged as the most cited journal. Through keyword analysis, we identified five main research themes and future research directions; nono-immunotherapy and green synthesis are the hot topics in this research field. CONCLUSION Our study summarized the key characteristics of publications in this field and identified the most influential countries, institutions, authors, journals, hot topics, and trends related to the application of nanomaterials in lung cancer. These findings contribute to the existing body of knowledge and serve as a foundation for future research endeavors in this area. More effective efforts are needed in this field to reduce the burden of lung cancer and help achieve the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals.

Abstract
Background Recently, cancer neuroscience has become the focus for scientists. Interactions between the nervous system and cancer (both systemic and local) can regulate tumorigenesis, progression, treatment resistance, compromise of anti-cancer immunity, and provocation of tumor-promoting inflammation. We assessed the related research on cancer neuroscience through bibliometric analysis and explored the research status and hotspots from 2020 to 2024. Methods Publications on cancer neuroscience retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Scimago Graphica were used to analyze and visualize the result. Results A total of 744 publications were retrieved, with an upward trend in the overall number of articles published over the last 5 years. As it has the highest number of publications (n = 242) and citations (average 13.63 citations per article), the United States holds an absolute voice in the field of cancer neuroscience. The most productive organizations and journals were Shanghai Jiaotong University (n = 24) and Cancers (n = 45), respectively. Monje M (H-index = 53), Hondermarck H (H-index = 42), and Amit M (H-index = 39) were the three researchers who have contributed most to the field. From a global perspective, research hotspots in cancer neuroscience comprise nerve/neuron-tumor cell interactions, crosstalk between the nervous system and other components of the tumor microenvironment (such as immune cells), as well as the impact of tumors and tumor therapies on nervous system function. Conclusion The United States and European countries are dominating the field of cancer neuroscience, while developing countries such as China are growing rapidly but with limited impact. The next focal point in this field is likely to be neurotrophic factors. Cancer neuroscience is still in its infancy, which means that many of the interactions and mechanisms between the nervous system and cancer are not yet fully understood. Further investigation is necessary to probe the interactions of the nervous system with cancer cell subpopulations and other components of the tumor microenvironment.

Abstract
This study summarizes and analyzes the relationship between mitochondria and the pathogenesis of lung cancer. The related articles in the Web of Science core literature database are searched and collected, and the data are processed by R software, Citespace, VOSviewer, and Excel. A total of 4476 related papers were retrieved, 4476 articles from 20162 co-authors of 3968 institutions in 84 countries and published in 951 journals. Through various bibliometric analysis tools, the relationship between mitochondria and the pathogenesis of lung cancer was analyzed, the previous research results were summarized, and the potential research direction was found.

Abstract
Background Lung cancer is a highly prevalent cancer on a global scale and its oncogenic process is driven by the accumulation of multiple pathological events. Epigenetics has gained significant recognition in recent years as a crucial contributor to the development of lung cancer. Epigenetics include processes such as DNA methylation, histone modification, chromatin remodeling, and RNA modification. These pathways lead to enduring alterations in genetic phenotypes, which are crucial in the advancement and growth of lung cancer. However, the specific mechanisms and roles of epigenetics in lung cancer still need to be further elucidated. Methods We obtained publications from the Web of Science databases and applied a rigorous search method to filter them. Ultimately, we gathered high-quality publications that had received the highest 100 number of citations. The data were processed and visualized by various bibliometric tools. Results The 100 papers had varying numbers of citations, with the lowest being 491 and the most being 6316. On average, each work received 1119 citations. A total of 1056 co-authors were involved in publishing these papers in 59 journals from 185 institutions in 27 countries. The majority of high-caliber research in the subject of lung cancer epigenetics is conducted in advanced countries, with the United States taking the lead in terms of both the quantity of articles produced and their academic influence. The study of DNA methylation has been a longstanding research priority in the discipline. With the development of next-generation sequencing technology in recent years, research related to non-coding RNA has become a research hotspot. Future research directions may focus more on exploring the mechanisms of action of messenger RNA and circular RNA and developing targeted treatment strategies based on non-coding RNA drugs. Conclusion We analyzed 100 top lung cancer and epigenetics documents through various bibliometric analysis tools. This study provides a concise overview of the findings from prior research, anticipates future research directions, and offers potential avenues for additional investigation.

Abstract
Background Pathomics has emerged as a promising biomarker that could facilitate personalized immunotherapy in lung cancer. It is essential to elucidate the global research trends and emerging prospects in this domain. Methods The annual distribution, journals, authors, countries, institutions, and keywords of articles published between 2018 and 2023 were visualized and analyzed using CiteSpace and other bibliometric tools. Results A total of 109 relevant articles or reviews were included, demonstrating an overall upward trend; The terms "deep learning", "tumor microenvironment", "biomarkers", "image analysis", "immunotherapy", and "survival prediction", etc. are hot keywords in this field. Conclusion In future research endeavors, advanced methodologies involving artificial intelligence and pathomics will be deployed for the digital analysis of tumor tissues and the tumor microenvironment in lung cancer patients, leveraging histopathological tissue sections. Through the integration of comprehensive multi-omics data, this strategy aims to enhance the depth of assessment, characterization, and understanding of the tumor microenvironment, thereby elucidating a broader spectrum of tumor features. Consequently, the development of a multimodal fusion model will ensue, enabling precise evaluation of personalized immunotherapy efficacy and prognosis for lung cancer patients, potentially establishing a pivotal frontier in this domain of investigation.

Abstract
In clinical practice, tumor-targeting diagnosis and immunotherapy against programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) have a significant impact. In this research, a PD-L1-antagonistic affibody dimer (ZPD-L1) was successfully prepared through Escherichia coli expression system, and conjugated with the photosensitizer of ICG via N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester to develop a novel tumor-targeting agent (ICG-ZPD-L1) for both tumor imaging diagnosis and photothermal-immunotherapy simultaneously. In vitro, ZPD-L1 could specifically bind to PD-L1-positive LLC and MC38 tumor cells, and ICG-ZPD-L1-mediated photothermal therapy (PTT) also showed excellent phototoxicity to these tumor cells. In vivo, ICG-ZPD-L1 selectively enriched into the PD-L1-positive MC38 tumor tissues, and the high-contrast optical imaging of tumors was obtained. ICG-ZPD-L1-mediated PTT exhibited a potent anti-tumor effect in vivo due to its remarkable photothermal properties. Furthermore, ICG-ZPD-L1-mediated PTT significantly induced the immunogenic cell death (ICD) of primary tumors, promoted maturation of dendritic cells (DCs), up-regulated anti-tumor immune response, enhanced immunotherapy, and superiorly inhibited the growth of metastatic tumors. In addition, ICG-ZPD-L1 showed favorable biosafety throughout the brief duration of treatment. In summary, these results suggest that ICG-ZPD-L1 is a multifunctional tumor-targeting drug integrating tumor imaging diagnosis and photothermal-immunotherapy, and has great guiding significance for the diagnosis and treatment of clinical PD-L1-positive tumor patients.

Abstract
Background As one of the most prevalent primary lung tumors, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has garnered considerable research interest due to its high metastasis rates and poor prognosis outcomes. Across different cancer types, metabolic processes are required for tumors progression and growth, thus interfering with such processes in NSCLC may therapeutically viable for limiting/halting disease progression. Therefore, comprehending how metabolic processes contribute to growth and survival mechanisms in cancers, including NSCLC, may elucidate key functions underpinning tumor cell metabolism. However, no bibliometric analyses have been published in this field, therefore we address this knowledge gap here. Methods Between 2013 and 2023 (December 28th), articles related to the NSCLC and metabolism (NSCLC-Met) field were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). To fully dissect NSCLC-Met research directions and articles, we used the Bibliometrix package in R, VOSviewer and CiteSpace software to visually represent global trends and hotspots. Results Between 2013 and 2023, 2,246 NSCLC-Met articles were retrieved, with a continuous upward trend and rapid development observed year on year. Cancers published the most articles, with Cancer Research recording the highest average citation numbers. Zhang Li from China was the most prolific author, but the highest number of authors came from the USA. China, USA, and Italy were the top three countries with the highest number of published articles, with close cooperation identified between countries. Recent hotspots and research directions were reflected by "lung adenocarcinoma", "immunotherapy", "nivolumab", "checkpoint inhibitors", "blockade", and "pembrolizumab", while "gut microbiome", "egfr" and "dose painting" were important topics for researchers. Conclusion From our analyses, scientists can now explore new hotspots and research directions in the NSCLC-Met field. Further in-depth research in this field will undoubtedly provide more new insights on disease diagnostics, treatment, and prognostics.

Abstract
Background Immunotherapy, frequently combined with conventional chemotherapy, is crucial for treating NSCLC. Kirsten rat sarcoma virus (KRAS) is a poor prognostic factor in patients with NSCLC, particularly lung adenocarcinoma, where binding of conventional inhibitors to mutated KRAS proteins is challenging. Field profiles, research hotspots, and prospects for immunotherapy for patients with NSCLC-carrying KRAS mutations were uncovered in this study. Methods Microsoft Excel 2019, Bibliometrix, VOSviewer software, and Citespace were utilized to conduct a comprehensive scientometric analysis and understand a specific research field's knowledge base and frontiers aided by bibliometrics. Results Between 2014 and 2023, 398 eligible documents in the English language were acquired using the WoSCC database, of which 113 and 285 were reviews and articles, respectively. The growth rate per year was 34.25 %. The most cited articles were from the United States, and China published the highest number of articles. Cancers was the journal, with increased publications in recent years. The keywords with the strongest citation bursts were analyzed using Citespace. "Immune checkpoint inhibitors," "co-occurring genomic alterations," and "KRAS" are among the research hotspots in this field. Conclusion Using bibliometric and visual analyses, we examined immunotherapy for patients with KRAS-mutant NSCLC over the previous decade. The whole analysis showed a steady, quick increase in yearly publications in this area. Our findings will provide a roadmap for future research on the mechanisms of immunotherapy and immune checkpoint inhibitor action in treating KRAS-mutant NSCLC.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to present current research trends on the synergistic use of radiotherapy and immunotherapy (IRT) for cancer treatment. On March 1, 2023, we conducted a literature search for IRT papers using the Web of Science database. We extracted information and constructed two databases - the Core Database (CD) with 864 papers and Generalized Database (GD) with 6344 papers. A bibliometric analysis was performed to provide insights into the research landscape, to identify emerging trends and highly cited papers and journals in the field of IRT. The CD contained 864 papers that were collectively cited 31,818 times. Prominent journals in this area included the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet Oncology, and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. Corresponding authors from the USA contributed the most publications. In recent years, lung cancer, melanoma, stereotactic radiotherapy, immune checkpoint inhibitors, and the tumor microenvironment emerged as hot research areas. This bibliometric analysis presented quantitative insights into research concerning IRT and proposed potential avenues for further exploration. Moreover, researchers can use our findings to select appropriate journals for publication or identify prospective collaborators. In summary, this bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive overview of the historical progression and recent advancements in IRT research that may serve as inspiration for future investigations.

Abstract
Various immunotherapy has been greatly applied to comprehensive treatment of malignant cancer under different degrees of tumor burden. Scientific researchers have gained considerable progress in the relationship between immunotherapy and tumor burden in recent years. This review aimed to explore the prospect and developing trends in the field of tumor burden and immunotherapy from a bibliometric perspective. Articles about tumor burden and immunotherapy were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) (retrieved on 3 January 2023). The R package 'Bibliometrix' analyzed the primary bibliometric features and created a three-filed plot to display the relationship between institutions, countries, and keywords. VOSviewer was used for co-authorship analysis, co-occurrence analysis, and their visualization. And CiteSpace calculated the citation burst references and keywords. A total of 1030 publications were retrieved from 35 years of scientific researches. The United States (US) and China published the most articles. The most productive journals were Cancer Immunology Immunotherapy and Journal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer . The top one institution of the highest output was University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The hot keywords of strong citation burst strength in recent years were 'nivolumab', 'tumor microenvironment', and 'immune checkpoint inhibitor'. The most popular tumor type is melanoma. This bibliometric analysis mapped a basic knowledge structure. The field of tumor burden and immunotherapy is entering a rapid growing stage and keeping it value for future research.

Abstract
Background: Cytokines modulate the glioma tumor microenvironment, influencing occurrence, progression, and treatment response. Strategic cytokine application may improve glioma immunotherapy outcomes. Gliomas remain refractory to standard therapeutic modalities, but immunotherapy shows promise given the integral immunomodulatory roles of cytokines. However, systematic evaluation of cytokine glioma immunotherapy research is absent. Bibliometric mapping of the research landscape, recognition of impactful contributions, and elucidation of evolutive trajectories and hot topics has yet to occur, potentially guiding future efforts. Here, we analyzed the structure, evolution, trends, and hotspots of the cytokine glioma immunotherapy research field, subsequently focusing on avenues for future investigation. Methods: This investigation conducted comprehensive bibliometric analyses on a corpus of 1529 English-language publications, from 1 January 2000, to 4 October 2023, extracted from the Web of Science database. The study employed tools including Microsoft Excel, Origin, VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and the Bibliometrix R package, to systematically assess trends in publication, contributions from various countries, institutions, authors, and journals, as well as to examine literature co-citation and keyword distributions within the domain of cytokines for glioma immunotherapy. The application of these methodologies facilitated a detailed exploration of the hotspots, the underlying knowledge structure, and the developments in the field of cytokines for glioma immunotherapy. Results: This bibliometric analysis revealed an exponential growth in annual publications, with the United States, China, and Germany as top contributors. Reviews constituted 17% and research articles 83% of total publications. Analysis of keywords like "interleukin-13," "TGF-beta," and "dendritic cells" indicated progression from foundational cytokine therapies to sophisticated understanding of the tumor microenvironment and immune dynamics. Key research avenues encompassed the tumor microenvironment, epidermal growth factor receptor, clinical trials, and interleukin pathways. This comprehensive quantitative mapping of the glioma immunotherapy cytokine literature provides valuable insights to advance future research and therapeutic development. Conclusion: This study has identified remaining knowledge gaps regarding the role of cytokines in glioma immunotherapy. Future research will likely focus on the tumor microenvironment, cancer vaccines, epidermal growth factor receptor, and interleukin-13 receptor alpha 2. Glioma immunotherapy development will continue through investigations into resistance mechanisms, microglia and macrophage biology, and interactions within the complex tumor microenvironment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pancreatic cancer (PC) is one of the most lethal malignancies of the digestive system and is expected to be the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States by 2030. A growing body of evidence suggests that the gut microbiota (GM) is intimately involved in the clinical diagnosis, oncogenic mechanism and treatment of PC. However, no bibliometric analysis of PC and GM has been reported. METHODS The literature on PC and GM was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database for the period from January 1, 2004 to April 25, 2023. Microsoft Excel 2021, CiteSpace, VOSviewer, Scimago Graphica, Graphpad Prism, Origin, the R package "bibliometrics" and the bibliometric online analysis program were used to visualize the publishing trends and hot spots in this field. RESULTS A total of 1,449 articles were included, including 918 articles and 531 reviews. Publishing had grown rapidly since 2017, with the 2023 expected to publish 268 articles. Unsurprisingly, the United States ranked highest in terms of number of literatures, H index and average citations. The University of California System was the most active institution, but Harvard University tended to be cited the most on average. The three most influential researchers were Robert M. Hoffman, Zhao Minglei, and Zhang Yong. Cancers had published the most papers, while Nature was the most cited journal. Keyword analysis and theme analysis indicated that "tumor microenvironment," "gemcitabine-resistance," "ductal adenocarcinoma," "gut microbiota" and "diagnosis" will be the hotspots and frontiers of research in the future. CONCLUSION In summary, the field is receiving increasing attention. We found that future hotspots of PC/GM research may focus on the mechanism of oncogenesis, flora combination therapy and the exploitation of new predictive biomarkers, which provides effective suggestions and new insights for scholars.

Abstract
Introduction This study aimed to systematically review research on cinacalcet and secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) using machine learning-based statistical analyses. Methods Publications indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection database on Cinacalcet and SHPT published between 2000 and 2022 were retrieved. The R package "Bibliometrix," VOSviewer, CiteSpace, meta, and latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) in Python were used to generate bibliometric and meta-analytical results. Results A total of 959 articles were included in our bibliometric analysis. In total, 3753 scholars from 54 countries contributed to this field of research. The United States, Japan, and China were found to be among the three most productive countries worldwide. Three Japanese institutions (Showa University, Tokai University, and Kobe University) published the most articles on Cinacalcet and SHPT. Fukagawa, M.; Chertow, G.M.; Goodman W.G. were the three authors who published the most articles in this field. Most articles were published in Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation, Kidney International, and Therapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis. Research on Cinacalcet and SHPT has mainly included three topics: 1) comparative effects of various treatments, 2) the safety and efficacy of cinacalcet, and 3) fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF-23). Integrated treatments, cinacalcet use in pediatric chronic kidney disease, and new therapeutic targets are emerging research hotspots. Through a meta-analysis, we confirmed the effects of Cinacalcet on reducing serum PTH (SMD = -0.56, 95% CI = -0.76 to -0.37, p = 0.001) and calcium (SMD = -0.93, 95% CI = -1.21to -0.64, p = 0.001) and improving phosphate (SMD = 0.17, 95% CI = -0.33 to -0.01, p = 0.033) and calcium-phosphate product levels (SMD = -0.49, 95% CI = -0.71 to -0.28, p = 0.001); we found no difference in all-cause mortality (RR = 0.97, 95% CI = 0.90 to 1.05, p = 0.47), cardiovascular mortality (RR = 0.69, 95% CI = 0.36 to 1.31, p = 0.25), and parathyroidectomy (RR = 0.36, 95% CI = 0.09 to 1.35, p = 0.13) between the Cinacalcet and non-Cinacalcet users. Moreover, Cinacalcet was associated with an increased risk of nausea (RR = 2.29, 95% CI = 1.73 to 3.05, p = 0.001), hypocalcemia (RR = 4.05, 95% CI = 2.33 to 7.04, p = 0.001), and vomiting (RR = 1.90, 95% CI = 1.70 to 2.11, p = 0.001). Discussion The number of publications indexed to Cinacalcet and SHPT has increased rapidly over the past 22 years. Literature distribution, research topics, and emerging trends in publications on Cinacalcet and SHPT were analyzed using a machine learning-based bibliometric review. The findings of this meta-analysis provide valuable insights into the efficacy and safety of cinacalcet for the treatment of SHPT, which will be of interest to both clinical and researchers.
