Optimal cutoffs were chosen by Youden’s index (sensitivity + specificity - 1). PPV/NPV depend on prevalence and here reflect the study sample (equal group sizes). Because cutoffs were derived within the same cohort, estimates may be optimistic and should be considered exploratory. AUC: Area under the curve; CI: Confidence interval; PPV: Positive predictive value; NPV: Negative predictive value; HOMA-IR: Homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance; TNF-α: Tumor necrosis factor-alpha.
