Normally distributed data are presented as mean ± SD and were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance, whereas non-normally distributed numerical data are presented as the median (minimum-maximum) and were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test. Comparisons between the control and treatment groups were performed using Fisher’s least significant difference test for normally distributed data and Bonferroni-adjusted pairwise comparisons for non-normally distributed data. aP < 0.05, bP < 0.01 indicated for the indicated between-group comparisons. 5-MTP: 5-Methoxytryptophan; DCM: Diabetic cardiomyopathy.
