Figure 1 CONSORT flow diagram of participants. Between 4 July 2020 and 4 October 2022, 132 participants were randomized 1:1 to 14-day bismuth quadruple therapy alone or with add-on trimebutine maleate 100 mg three times daily. Recruitment was terminated early at 132 of the planned 652 participants (20%) owing to corona virus disease-19-related disruption of elective endoscopic activity. ITT: Intention-to-treat; PP: Per-protocol; BQT: Bismuth quadruple therapy; UBT: Urea breath test; TID: Three time daily.
