This generalized estimating equation model was adjusted for the following covariates: Age, sex, body mass index, neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy, and TNM stage. The reference group for the “group” effect is the non-ultra-low group (> 3 cm). The reference time point for the “time” effect is 1 month postoperatively.
