How do these associations with mucosal healing (MH) in CD compare with UC? About 90% of patients remain asymptomatic after achieving MH on once-a-day 5-aminosalicylic acid (Mezavant^®), and after MH, 40% of UC patients remain asymptomatic (TG, 22%). TG: Therapeutic gain; CD: Crohn's disease; UC: Ulcerative colitis; TNFB: Tumor necrosis factor-α blockers (response in active treatment group minus response in placebo group; differences statistically significant).
