Figure 1 Flow diagram of adult acute ischemic stroke admissions from the 2020 National Inpatient Sample database. After exclusion of patients with metabolic abnormalities and missing sex or race data, 4935 patients with metabolically healthy obesity were matched 1:1 to 4935 patients in the non-metabolically healthy obesity group using propensity score matching based on age, sex, and race.
