The major complications associated with a single lung transplant: Primary graft dysfunction, as a consequence of organ procurement, cold storage, and implantation; cell- and antibody-mediated acute and chronic rejection (CLAD). CLAD phenotypes are presented mainly as bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS), restrictive allograft syndrome (RAS), recurrence of primary disease, anastomotic stricture, and azithromycin-responsive allograft dysfunction, as well as other specific causes of decline in lung function.
