Figure 1 Nomogram for predicting the risk of delayed gastrointestinal recovery after radical gastrectomy.
The nomogram incorporates six independent risk factors: Age ≥ 65 years, low body weight (body mass index < 18.5), American Society of Anesthesiologists grade III, preoperative hypoalbuminemia, tumour, node, and metastasis stage III, and total gastrectomy. For each patient, a score is assigned to each variable by drawing a vertical line to the Points axis. The sum of all individual scores yields the total points, which corresponds to the predicted probability of delayed gastrointestinal recovery along the bottom axis (ranging from 10% to 90%). ASA: American Society of Anesthesiologists; TNM: Tumour, node, and metastasis.
