Dr Yee Kai Tee is an expert in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for acute stroke and cancer diagnosis. Dr Tee is an assistant professor in the Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia. He did his master, Phd and postdoc at Oxford University, working on a new type of MRI technique called chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST).  This imaging modality has obtained some novel breakthroughs in animal model but several hardware and regulatory limitations have prevented it from becoming a routine clinical tool to aid decision making for stroke and cancer management. His works have provided the technical capability and necessary analysis to assess the clinical utility of CEST imaging. Currently, Dr Tee is combining his engineering knowledge with medical imaging, where his current research interest lies in using artificial intelligence to improve MRI and CT imaging for better clinical applications.
