Prof. Zongxin Ling, who focused on the research of microbial ecology for nearly 15 years, is the principal investigator of Collaborative Innovation Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, State Key Laboratory for Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, The First Affiliated Hospital, College of Medicine, Zhejiang University. He is also distinguished professor of the key laboratory of microbial ecology and disease control, Dalian, Liaoning Province. Dr. Ling received his undergraduate degree from Dalian Medical University, and his Ph.D. from Zhejiang University. He has authored or co-authored over 70 peer reviewed publications (Including publications in Chinese) with the total impact factor (IF) more than 190 and participated in editing three books. His publications have been published in Hepatology, Applied and Environmental Microbiology, EbioMedicine, Microbial Ecology, BMC Genomics, Frontiers in Immunology and so on, which has been cited for more than 3000. Now, his H-index is 24 when excluded the self-citations. He also serves on the Editorial Boards of PLoS One, EC microbiology and Chinese Journal of Microecology, associate editor of Frontiers in Immunology, Frontiers in Microbiology, Frontiers in Medicine and Frontiers in Public Health. He is also a peer reviewer for more than 30 academic journals such as The ISME Journal, Environmental Microbiology, Microbial Ecology, BMC Microbiology, Future Microbiology and so on. With the advent of high-throughput sequencing techniques, he has investigated the relationship between human microbiota and many diseases such as bacterial vaginosis, HIV infection, liver diseases, food allergy, gastric cancer and so on. Dr. Ling has extensive experience in microbial ecology, microbial genomics, microbial physiology and metagenomics. His paper has been selected as ISMB 2011 Outstanding Paper Award at International Symposium of Microbial Biofilm (ISMB), Chengdu, China. His is also awarded with “Xinglin Academic Star of Zhejiang University” and “Taishan scholar”
