Dr. Yi-wei Xu is currently working at Department of Clinical Laboratory Medicine, Cancer Hospital of Shantou University Medical College. He accomplished Bachelor’ Degree in Laboratory Medicine at Guangdong Medical University, and Master’ Degree of pathology and pathophysiology and Doctoral Degree of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Shantou University Medical College. He has been awarded the Guangdong Province Outstanding Young Medical Talent Award (2018). His main research interest is to identify and develop of serum biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of gastrointestinal cancer, and to study the function and molecular mechanism of protein biomarkers in esophageal cancer. From 2014 to present, Dr. Xu has received many grants (e.g. the Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province), and has published 13 academic articles in international peer-review journals (e.g., American Journal of Gastroenterology, Gastric Cancer, Cancer Prevention Research), and presented his studies at two international academic conferences (AACR Annual Meeting 2016, 14th OESO World Conference).
