An Egyptian professor of Tropical Medicine & Hepatogastroenterology in Mansoura Faculty of Medicine- Mansoura University, Mahmoud El-Bendary graduated in 1989 from Mansoura University medical school, got the Master and Doctorate degrees in Tropical Medicine & Hepatology in 1994 and 2001. With his expertise in the field of endemic medicine and hepatogastroenterology, he has shared in teaching Tropical hepatogastroenterology to undergraduate and postgraduate students, collaboration in the training of foreign medical students participating in Mansoura-Manchester programme for medical education . Now he is the head of the Tropical medicine & hepatology , Coordinator of the Egyptian Fellowship programme ( Hepatology ) in the Mansoura University Hospital & sharing in the teaching the hepatogastroenterology course in clinical pharmacology membership programme. He is also a senior hepatology consultant in Health insurance& one of the member in Viral Hepatitis Treatment Centers- Ministry of Health in Egypt .An author of numerous publications in specialized peer reviewed journals as well as reviewer in many journals and a member of some of their editorial board as well. He is a supervisor of more than 35 MSc and MD theses. He is a reviewer for the board of assessment and certification of Egyptian universities’ staff members. With his expertise in the field of viral hepatitis and extensive studying of the magnitude and management of the problem of HCV in Egyptian patients he is the principal and co investigator in many projects funded by national health institutes ( as STDF). He is the president of the Dakahalyia Hepato-Gastroenterology Association (DHGA) where he organize the annual heptogastroenterology conference since 2005 up till now .He is a coauthor shared in publication of new book entitled( professional guide to clinical hepatogastroenterology) for under & postgraduate students.
