Volkan Ince graduated from Gazi University of Ankara in 2005 and finished his general surgery training at Inonu University of Malatya in 2012. He worked in Transplantation intensive care unit of Baskent University in Ankara for 3 months in 2008 to gain expertise as avisiting fellow. Since 2013 he has been working at the department of general surgery, Liver Transplantation Institute of Inonu University. They perform over 250 liver transplantation per year, mostly from live donors, and nearly 3700 liver transplantation in total until now. He is board certified surgeon in general surgery and transplant surgery. He has a particular clinical and scientific experience and interest within the fields of living donation, liver transplantation, hepatocellular carcinoma, secondary liver tumours, acute liver failure, artificial liver support devices and intensive care. He became a professor of general surgery in Türkiye in 2023. He is member of the International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS), European Society of Organ Transplantation (ESOT), Turkish Society of Surgery, Liver Transplantation Society of Turkey, Turkish Society of Intensive Care, Turkish Society of Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Medicine and Turkish Society of Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery.
