Pål-Dag Line graduated from the University of Oslo in 1987 and received his PhD degree from the University of Oslo in 1996. Since 2004 he has been Chairman at the Department of Surgery & Transplantation Medicine, Oslo University Hospital. He is board certified in general surgery, vascular surgery and transplant surgery. He holds the position as senior consultant surgeon and within the fields of abdominal transplantation (liver, kidney, pancreas), HPB surgery and vascular surgery as well as professor of surgery at the University of Oslo. He has a particular clinical and scientific experience and interest within the fields of living donation, abdominal vascular disease, microcirculation, liver transplantation, hepatocellular carcinoma, secondary liver tumours, liver regeneration and immunotherapy. He acts as editor in chief for OMB Transplanation and is the Norwegian board member of the Scandinavian organ procurement organisation Scandiatransplant and member of the international transplantation societies TTS, ILTS and ESOT as well as the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, European Surgical Association and International Surgical Group.
