Dr. Shariq Usmani is at the Center for Immunology and Inflammatory Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. Dr. Usmani’s research interests span areas of host-pathogen interaction, anti-viral immunity, HIV-1 pathogenesis and intravital imaging. He has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications in leading research journals including Nature, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications and Cell Host and Microbes. He is a recipient of several awards and fellowships over the years; some of prominent recent honors include MGH Tosteson & Fund for Medical Discovery award and Harvard University Center for AIDS Research Developmental award. His current research is geared to harness the capabilities of adaptive immune responses against viral pathogens and develop novel therapeutic strategies.
