Tudor Lucian Pop is a Senior Consultant in Paediatrics and Paediatric Gastroenterology and Full Professor at the 2nd Paediatric Clinic of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iuliu Hatieganu Cluj-Napoca, Romania, from where he graduated in 1995. His clinical work is in the field of Paediatric Gastroenterology and mainly in Paediatric Hepatology where he focuses on neonatal cholestasis and liver transplantation, acute and chronic hepatitis and metabolic liver diseases. His PhD studies were in the area of autoimmunity associated with chronic viral hepatitis in children. The main research activity areas are cholestasis, hepatitis, metabolic liver disorders (Wilson disease and other rare liver diseases), acute liver failure and non-invasive evaluation of the liver. He is the Coordinator of the Center of Expertise in Pediatric Liver Rare Diseases at Emergency Children Hospital Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He is the author of a book on Cholestasis in Children, one Student Textbook in Pediatrics and Rehabilitation and several book chapters, author or co-author of more than 120 articles in peer-reviewed international and national journals and he presented over 250 papers at paediatric congresses or meetings. He is the President of the Romanian Society of Social Paediatrics and General Secretary of the Romanian Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, and the Paediatric Associations of the Balkan. He was involved in the Education task force and serve as member of the Hepatology Committee of the European Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN). He is a member of the council and chairman of the scientific and educational projects committee of the European Pediatric Association (EPA-UNEPSA).
