Dr. Sunil Jain is Professor Pediatrics in the Army Medical Corps, India. Having received his MBBS degree from Armed Forces Medical College India in 1989, Dr. Jain undertook his postgraduate training at the same college, AFMC India, and was awarded MD Pediatrics in 1998. He has been a Specialist Paediatrician in the Army Medical Corps since then. He has distinguished service spanning more than three decades in different Armed Forces Hospitals & field establishments. These include difficult terrains & difficult times, and diligent tact of his lead to formulation of protocols for Armed Forces children, and many international & national research awards, including Lifetime Achievement International Scientist Award 2020. His deployment in operational area of Command Hospital Northern Command, India resulted in important universal guidance chapter “COMBAT CASUALTY CARE FOR CHILDREN: PECULIARITIES, PROBLEMS, & PROVISIONS” Military Medicine. 2021; IntechOpen Ltd. London. His ongoing research interests are Medical Education, Newborn care, Paediatric Infectious diseases, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Neurology, Adolescent Medicine, & Pediatric surgery. He is a strong proponent of use of technology in Medicine, including dynamic medical record keeping in Smart Cards, & mobile communication technologies. His aptitude, dynamism, & dedication attitude won him the Oxford University Press, Great Britain Medical Editors Competition 1995. His liking for Preventive Pediatrics has resulted in his talk ‘Conquest of mankind over infections: Immunization’ at different forums. His liking for Promotive Pediatrics resulted in Indian Academy of Pediatrics MindApple awards for “Infant development: touch & massage influence” & “Childhood entertainment: avenues, analysis, & orderly application”.
