With a medical degree in India, upon his MD in 2008 at PGIMER, Chandigarh, Rashmi Ranjan Das was nominated a permanent faculty of pediatrics at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, India. Over the last 10 years, he has focused his scientific interests on the topics related to pediatric respiratory medicine, infectious disease, allergy and micronutrients (zinc, vitamin D), and evidence based medicine. He has been actively involved in the WHO guidelines on newborn health. He has also been involved in many clinical trials in pediatric infectious diseases including pneumonia, diarrhea, hepatitis  B vaccine,  and malaria. He is a national faculty for teaching evidence based medicine and involved in the ICMR center for evidence based child health at PGIMER, Chandigarh, India. He is an author and reviewer of Cochrane Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) and Cochrane Neonatal Group. He has published many SCI journal papers and book chapters, edited/reviewed for many academic journals, participated in several national projects, and received many academic awards/grants including that of American College of Chest Physicians, Asian Pacific Society of Respirology, International Pediatric Association, and Department of Biotechnology.
