Arash Kimyai-Asadi, MD is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery for the treatment of skin cancer. During his 3 years as an undergraduate student at the Johns Hopkins University School of Arts and Science, he completed a triple major, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with Bachelors of Arts in Biology, Philosophy, and Psychology. He subsequently attended medical school at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his dermatology training at the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at New York University, where he served as a resident and chief resident. Subsequently, he completed a Mohs micrographic surgery fellowship accredited by the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology at DermSurgery Associates with Dr. Leonard Goldberg. Dr. Asadi has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles as well as numerous book chapters in clinical and surgical dermatology. His current research focuses on techniques that improve cancer detection at surgical margins, thereby minimizing recurrence rates after cancers are surgically removed, as well as improved techniques for aesthetic reconstruction of the face after skin cancer removal.
