Enrique Guerado graduated at Malaga Medical School (University of Malaga, Spain) in 1979, presenting successfully his Doctoral Thesis at the University Autonoma of Madrid (Spain) in 1988. He underwent his training as an Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at the Hospital Civil Universitario of Malaga (1980-1984), and at the Ospedale di Busto Arsizio of Varese University (Italy) in 1983, working afterward at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (University of Oxford, United Kingdom) during 1985 and 1986. He became an AO, and a Traveling Scholar in some hospital around Europe in 1990, studying also Management at the John Hopkins University (USA) & Pompeu i Fabra University Barcelona (Spain) in 2009. He also holds a MSc in Clinical Management at the National School of Health (Ministry of Economics and Competitiveness, Madrid, Spain) in 2014. Prof. Guerado was appointed as a Professor and Chairman of the Orthopaedic and Trauma Department of the Hospital Universitario Costa del Sol, Malaga University, in 1993. He has been Director of some Cooperation Projects on Orthopaedics headed by the Spanish Ministry of Health, the European Community Humanitarian Office, and also for some National Health Services development programmes in Latin America countries. His main interest is focused in polytrauma and major revision surgery of hip replacement with large bone defects. He has published numerous book chapters and papers on orthopaedic and trauma.
