Dr. Fonseca-Alves is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Health Sciences, Paulista University – UNIP, Brazil. He achieved his DVM degree from Federal University of Goias - UFG, Brazil and did Residency in Internal Medicine of Small Animals. Then, Dr. Fonseca-Alves obtained his Master (20011 to 2013) and PhD (2013 to 2016) degrees at Sao Paulo State University - UNESP. During his PhD, he went to the University of Guelph – UoG, Canada and performed part of his PhD thesis in collaboration with the Ontario Veterinary College. In 2016, had a postdoc position at the Veterinary Pathology Department at UNESP, until 2019. Then, received a research position at the Department of Clinical Genetics, at the Vejle Hospital – University of Southern Denmark. Dr. Fonseca-Alves became Associate professor of Internal Medicine of Small Animals at Paulista University in 2020. My research focus is understanding the process involved in HER2 overexpressing tumors and identification of prognostic and predictive markers in human and canine cancers.
