Dr. Punyanganie de Silva, MBBS, MRCP (UK), MPH  is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an Attending Gastroenterologist & Physician at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston, USA. She is a clinician in the Center for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and the Director of Nutrition at the Crohn’s & Colitis Center at her institution. Dr. de Silva is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at Harvard Medical School. Dr. de Silva graduated with honours from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya and completed her postgraduate training in the East of England Postgraduate Deanery, United Kingdom, Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women's Hospital, USA. She is a recipient of multiple research grants and awards and is a peer reviewer for numerous gastroenterology and internal medicine journals. In addition, Dr. de Silva has been an invited lecturer and speaker for national and international seminars and has published articles, reviews and abstracts in gastroenterology journals. Her research focus is on diet and environmental risk factors in IBD and clinical research outcomes in IBD.
