Dr. Jiao Yan is an Associate Professor affiliated with the First Hospital of Jilin University. She obtained her Ph.D. in hepatobiliary surgery and has established herself as an influential researcher in her field. Throughout her career, Dr. Yan has published extensively, with over 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests center around identifying diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for various cancers, including liver, breast, ovarian, and pancreatic cancer. Dr. Yan has made important contributions towards elucidating the mechanisms underlying cancer progression and discovering novel targets for therapy. Her highly cited works have uncovered prognostic roles for metabolic enzymes like OGDHL and signaling proteins like HOTAIR in the context of hepatocellular carcinoma. She has also conducted thorough bioinformatic analyses of public datasets to relate the expression of various RNA transcripts and proteins to clinical outcomes in diverse malignancies. Awards and honors received by Dr. Yan include research grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She sits on the editorial boards of several surgery and oncology journals. Outside of her primary focus on cancer biomarkers, Dr. Yan has published on topics ranging from the tumor immune microenvironment to the epidemiology of lesser omental hernias.
