Dr. Martínez- Pérez is a Colorectal Surgeon and Senior Researcher in the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Valencian International University (VIU), Spain. Having received his MD degree from the University of Valencia 2010, Dr. Martínez undertook his postgraduate training at the Doctor Peset University Hospital. He has been a consultant surgeon in this hospital since 2016, and obtained his PhD degree in 2017. His ongoing research interests are the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques (laparoscopic or robotic) to resect colorectal cancers, and to treat surgical emergencies. Dr. Martínez Pérez is Editor of the BMC Surgery journal since 2021 and has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles.
