Yoshifumi Nakayama is a chief surgical director of Kitakyushu General Hospital, and a clinical professor of University of Occupational and Environmental Health, from April 2018. He was a director, clinical professor and associate professor of Department of Gastroenterological and General Surgery, Wakamatsu Hospital of University of Occupational and Environmental Health, Japan, from May 2013 to March 2018. He was an assistant of Department of Surgery 1, University of Occupational and Environmental Health, from April 1995 to May 2009. He has been graduated from School of Medicine, University of Occupational Health in 1986. He did his residency in Department of Surgery 1 at the University of Occupational and Environmental Health. He has also researched in National Cancer Institute-Frederick and Department of Biochemistry 1, Kyushu University. He has published more than 100 reviewed papers. He takes part in many medical societies.Research interest: (1)Surgery and chemotherapy of the colorectal cancer and gastric cancer; (2) Laparoscopic surgery; (3) Gastrointestinal Endoscopy; (4) Treatment of solid tumor using retinoic acid; and (5)Regulation of cancer invasion and metastasis.
