My medical journey began in 1999 in Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India. On completion of medical college I underwent one year of rotating internship at one of Asia's busiest hospital Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. After fulfilling the basic requirements, I started internal Medicine residency in Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn NY. It was at LICH that my love for gastroenterology blossomed. In order to pursue an academic career in gastroenterology I needed mentorship and guidance. I found this at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center under the mentorship of Drs. Ciaran P. Kelly and Daniel A. Leffler in form of a Celiac Disease fellowship. On Completion of celiac disease fellowship I continued formal Gastroenterology and Hepatology training at University of Missississippi Medical center under the program Directorship of Dr Shou J. Tang. During the course of fellowship I also travelled to Milwaukee, WI as an American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society fellow and worked under instruction from Dr Benson Massey learning about gut motility. I am currently appointed as an Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at University of Mississippi Medial Center.
