Dr Kostas Dabos MD PhD is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Head of the Liver services at St John’s hospital at Livingston, Scotland, UK. He has a research interest on acute and chronic liver failure and has published extensively on the subjects. His basic science research focuses on biochemical abnormalities in chronic liver disease and acute liver failure. He tries to translate basic research to improvement in patients’ care. Recently, he has been involved with research pertaining to capsule endoscopy. He has also been active in teaching medical students and is the teaching coordinator for students of the University of Edinburgh Medical School in his hospital. He has been involved with the Liver Cell biology Laboratory of the University of Edinburgh who is doing pioneering research in the field of Liver Supporting Systems. He strives to produce practice changing research.
