Ratan K Choudhary is an Assistant Professor at School of Animal Biotechnology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal  Sciences University (GADVASU) located at Ludhiana city of Punjab province in India. Before joining his current position, he was a post-doc fellow at United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Beltsville, Maryland, USA that was recruited through University of Kentucky, Lexington, USA. His doctoral degree work at University of Maryland, College Park was focused on identification of bovine mammary stem cells of bovine mammary glands using BrdU label retention study. He provided the evidence that BrdU label retaining epithelial cells are enriched with transcripts of stem cells. Ratan has written several papers relevant to mammary stem cells of ruminants (cow, goat and water buffalo) and presently finding ways to increase its number for the enhanced production potential and mammary tissue regeneration.Ratan has also made various scientific presentation at various international meetings and won several awards, majority of them are of International repute. He has been serving as reviewers of many international peer reviewed journals (like Scientific Reports) and international proposals pertaining to mammary stem cells biology.
