Dr. Ali serves as a volunteer faculty at the University of Oklahoma. He is the Chief of gastroenterology services at Saint Anthony Hospital Oklahoma City, Oklahoma . Dr. Ali graduated from the King Edward Medical University of Pakistan. He finished his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology subspecialty fellowship at the OU College of Medicine. During his training, he spent some time at the University of Chicago to learn about inflammatory bowel disease and receive direct mentoring from Dr. David Rubin, an internationally renowned authority in Crohn’s and colitis. Dr. Ali has a passion about inflammatory bowel disease and has presented many papers on this topic at regional, national and international levels. He has published many research and review articles on Crohn’s and colitis. His areas of interest include effect of sleep problems on inflammatory bowel disease and impact of health literacy on the disease outcomes. As a member of American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, Southern Society of Clinical Investigators, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, he is actively involved in many educational activities. He has served as the academic editor-in-chief of World Journal of Gastroenterology and is on editorial boards of many gastroenterology journals.
