Dr. Anca Trifan, MD, PhD, FEBGH, FRCP (London), Professor of Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, and Director of the Department of Internal Medicine of the “Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Iasi, Romania, Head of the Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Iasi, Romania. Her research interests include viral hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, liver transplant, acute-on chronic liver failure, non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis, inflammatory bowel disease, biliary tract disorders, and Clostridium difficile infection. She has published numerous original papers, books and chapters of books and has been actively involved in the peer-review process of many high impact factor journals. She has been involved in the medical teaching from the beginning of her career. She received many prizes form scientific organization (e.g., Rising Stars in Gastroenterology awarded by UEG). She is past president of The Romanian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, member of The Academy of Medical Sciences, member of the European Board of Gastroenterology, AGA fellow and member of The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
