Professor Luca Mastracci is a practicing academic histopathologist subspecialized in digestive disease pathology working at The University of Genova, Italy. Special interests are esophageal and gastric pathology for which Professor Mastracci has written National Guidelines and participates in International work groups concerning Gastro-Esophageal Reflux disease and Gastric and gastro-esophageal Junctional cancers. Furthermore, Professor Mastracci is a leading expert in experimental pathology and, after a training at UC Davis (California), he is involved in the histopathological analysis of engineered mouse models. Professor Mastracci has also been instrumental in training young pathologists and supervising PhD students as well as being a contributing member of GIPAD (Italian Group of Digestive disease Pathology).
